Google is preparing to launch a new privacy feature called ‘Private Space’ with the Android 15 upgrade, comparable to Samsung’s Secure Folder. This functionality will be accessible on Google Pixel phones, giving users a safe location to install and manage applications away from their primary profile.

According to Android Authority, work on the Private Space feature is ongoing, and the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1 discloses more about its operation and configuration. The feature safeguards user privacy by providing a distinct profile that may be closed and concealed.

During setup, consumers are told that the Google Play Store is pre-installed in the Private Space, and the private profile cannot be transferred to another device. Users are advised that connecting to a PC or downloading hazardous software may jeopardise their personal Space.

To better safeguard their private space data, individuals can create a new Google Account. This helps to keep personal information such as images, emails, and browser history from leaking beyond a protected profile.

Users may utilise their current screen lock to enter their Private Space or create a new one, including a PIN, pattern, password, or fingerprint.

Private Space’s settings allow users to decide when it automatically locks, adjust the screen lock, hide the profile from the app list, regulate notification visibility, and even erase it.
