Motion pictures capture a few seconds of movement and sound before and after the picture is shot. Unlike ordinary pictures, they mix a little video clip with the image to give the scene more vitality and authenticity.

Motion images abound on smartphones like iPhones, Google Pixel, and Samsung Galaxy. It goes under Motion Photo, Top Shot, or Live Photos on different cellphones.

Users of the new WhatsApp update can share these motion pictures through channels, group chats, and personal conversations. This allows consumers additional choices and freedom for photo sharing.

A new button will allow you to decide whether to transmit the motion or static picture when you choose one to forward. The feature will work in both solo and group conversations and even channels.

Though it is still under development, the motion photo capability will be accessible in the next WhatsApp version. Stay tuned for more details as this feature becomes available soon.
