UNN Staff Caught Collecting Cash for Admission Clearance – Students Cry Out

A staff member of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has been caught on video allegedly taking ₦16,000 in cash from new students during their admission clearance process.

The video, which recently went viral on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), was secretly recorded by one of the students involved. In the clip, the staff can be seen receiving the money and counting it to ensure it is complete.

According to the student who shared the video, the staff member insists that payments must be made in cash and refuses to accept bank transfers. 

The student further claimed that this demand is not a one-time case. Many students in the Faculty of Agriculture are reportedly being asked to pay the same amount to complete their UNN admission clearance.

The student who posted the video appealed to the public, saying:

“Nigerians, come to our help. This is the Faculty of Agriculture doing clearance. This man is collecting ₦16k from each student — this is not fair. Thousands of students are coming to do clearance. He tells you he doesn’t take transfer.”

This revelation has sparked concern among Nigerians online, with many calling for the university to investigate the matter and bring the staff involved to book. Others are demanding better transparency in the admission clearance process and protection for new students who may be taken advantage of.

As of now, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka has not released an official statement regarding the incident.
