2 People Dead As Passenger Plane Collides With Training Aircraft Above National Park .

A tragic mid-air crash has resulted in the deaths of two people, as a passenger plane collided with a training aircraft above Nairobi National Park in Kenya.

The collision occurred at 10.05 local time (07.05 GMT) on Tuesday, March 5. The student and trainer on board the training aircraft were unfortunately killed in the crash, while passengers on the larger plane were unharmed.

Following the collision, the smaller training plane crashed to the ground, while the larger plane, with 44 individuals on board including five crew members, reported hearing a loud bang soon after takeoff from Wilson Airport and decided to return.

An investigation into the incident has been initiated, with law enforcement officials present at the crash site. The police report indicated that the Dash 8 had collided with a single-engine Cessna 172 from 99 Flying School, carrying two individuals on a training session.

Nairobi county police commander Adamson Bungei confirmed the tragic loss of the student and trainer on the training aircraft, without providing further details.

The local airline Safarilink, operating the passenger plane, confirmed that all individuals on their aircraft were unharmed.
