A newborn baby remarkably survived six hours beneath the ground after being buried alive by her mother.

FMTBLOG gathered that the child’s mother, a 23-year-old Ugandan, buried her infant in a garden seconds after giving birth without medical treatment.

According to a January case report, the baby child was buried overnight and recovered at 11 a.m. the next day.

The mother’s relatives spotted blood traces in the garden near her home, leading them to the spot where she was buried.

After placing an emergency call, doctors hurried to the residence to rescue the trapped youngster, who was still linked to the placenta.

When touched, the infant moved his limbs but had difficulty breathing.

Shocking photographs showed the toddler covered in severe scrapes and bruises as a result of being confined underground overnight.

The infant was extricated from the improvised grave while physicians battled to rescue her. After taking her to safety, the medics swiftly cleansed the infant and cut the remaining umbilical cord to separate her from the placenta.

According to the case report, the infant was chilly to the touch, and her skin had gone ‘bluish’ from being buried all night.

She was placed in an incubator and given oxygen through nasal prongs as physicians marveled at how the small youngster had survived the experience.

Further investigations confirmed that she had sustained no harm to her heart, stomach, or other organs.

Six days later, the infant was released from the hospital and could breathe regularly without an oxygen supply within 24 hours.

The newborn is now being fostered by her grandma after local police arrested her mother for attempted infanticide.

She was then reportedly detained in a penitentiary prison before being moved to a mental facility.
