With iOS 18 beta 3, users may expect changes in icon design, which will automatically shift to dark mode. It is envisaged that at the end of the operating system testing cycle, the developers will produce bespoke versions of the icons for the dark theme with a more finished appearance.

Additional changes are made to Photos and Messages. Users may now learn more about RCS, the communications technology ultimately included in the system after pressure from the European Union. In addition, new dynamic versions of iOS 18’s default wallpapers change according to the time of day.

More information is needed regarding modifying the new beta versions for the other platforms. Still, it’s conceivable that the upgrades will focus on bug repairs and performance improvements over beta 2, published on June 24.

The beta versions of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15 Sequoia do not yet include Apple Intelligence, Apple’s suite of AI technologies. In mid-September 2024, the business aims to deliver the first AI features for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, which are currently under development and will be available solely in English in the United States.
