An unidentified woman has left a day-old baby girl unattended in the New Market district of the capital of Niger State, Minna.
Residents told Daily Trust that the baby was found at 1 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2024, after her screams were heard behind one of the houses.
One local woman, Maryam Abdullah, said that a nurse had been brought in to check the baby’s health before handing her over to the authorities for treatment.
“The baby was found behind one of the homes in the New Market neighborhood at 1 a.m. after someone heard her scream.” They drafted a nurse to check the baby, and she appeared to be in good condition. “Well, we’d like to speak to the right people to take care of the baby,” she said.
