A recent survey indicated that the price of a 50-kg bag of rice has risen to N100,000, making it hard for an average Nigerian to afford.
The survey has reported that well-known brands like Caprice (123,500), Disney Princess (102,000), Saelony (110,000), Big Bull (113,000), Mamas Pride (114,000), and Tomato Gold (148,500) are now available at these rates.
Big Bull sachet rice was 200, now 300—up some.
According to experts, another cause is the drastic increase in fuel prices during Tinubu’s administration.
