In a surprising incident, two cows worth ₦1.9 million destined for a church’s harvest celebration were reported stolen.
The theft took place at the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Testimony Parish located in the Egbeda district of Oyo State.
The church informed the public about the theft through a Facebook post, highlighting that the stolen cows were set aside for their yearly adult harvest Thanksgiving event planned for November 17, 2024.
The theft allegedly transpired on November 11 during the event’s preparations.
Despite extensive search efforts, the whereabouts of the cows remain unknown. The church is therefore appealing for financial assistance to replace the cows in time for the celebration.
The church, in its Facebook post, requested prayers and support: “Dear Celestians and the General Public, these two massive cows were taken from their spot in the church premises at CCC Testimony Parish, Elerumoke Area, Egbeda, Iyana Ajia.
These cows were intended for the 9th adult harvest thanksgiving of the church happening this Sunday, November 17, 2024.”
Furthermore, the church asked anyone possessing any knowledge about the stolen cows to step forward, adding, “We at this moment appeal for your prayers for the swift return of this harvest thanksgiving sacrificial material.
Anyone with valuable information or assistance to make the Thanksgiving celebration a success should reach out to the parish shepherd.”
