The news of his passing came as a shock to many, with reports indicating that he had passed away in the early hours of the day following a bathroom fall.
Murphy Afolabi was born on May 5, 1974, and he had just turned 49 years old in 2023.

He was born in Osun State and hailed from Oroki Asala in Osogbo. He had a Diploma in Theatre Arts and Film Production from Osun State Polytechnic in Iree, which he obtained in 2001.
The actor and producer was a father of three children – two boys and a girl – named Afolabi Olamilekan, Afolabi Fathia Moyosore, and Okikiola Afolabi.
Murphy had a passion for acting from a young age, and he began his journey in professional acting under the guidance of veteran actor Fasasi Olabankewin (Dagunro) in 1998.
Murphy shot to fame after his role in the movie ‘Omo Rapala.’ He was a talented producer and had multiple movies to his credit, which earned him a well-loved reputation among fans and colleagues in the industry.
His sudden passing has left a void in the industry, and his legacy will continue to live on through his body of work.
