Bobrisky Slams Social Media Personality Verydarkman With N1 Billion, Says Leaked Audio Recording Is AI-Generated

In a surprising turn of events, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has initiated legal proceedings against social media personality Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.

Bobrisky demands N1 billion in damages due to alleged defamatory statements and blackmail threats.

VeryDarkMan had earlier claimed in a rapidly circulated audio recording that Bobrisky had corrupted certain Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials with an N15m bribe to avoid money laundering charges.

Bobrisky, through his legal counsel, R.T. Omuvwie & Co., dismissed the audio as a fabrication using artificial intelligence.

The letter, shared on social media on September 28, 2024, also demanded that VeryDarkMan immediately withdraw the audio and issue a public apology for the ‘defamatory statements.’

The letter further stated,

“We, therefore, demand, in addition, on behalf of our client, a written apology published in two national newspapers to be published in two national daily newspapers, a video recording of your apology to our client published on all your social media platforms, an undertaking to desist from reporting, publishing defamatory contents against our client, and the payment in favour of our client of the sum of N1,000,000,000 as damages within 24 hours of the letter to you via social media or any other means,” the letter reads.

“Your failure to fulfill and take advantage of the alternative dispute resolution mechanism introduced and stated in paragraphs 10 and 11 of this demand notice, we shall seek legal redress in a court with competent jurisdiction immediately without any further notice to you. We hope this can be resolved within the next 24 hours.”

In case of non-compliance with the alternative dispute resolution provisions outlined in the demand letter, Bobrisky’s legal counsel pledged to seek legal redress in a competent court without further notice. All of these are expected to be resolved within the next 24 hours.
