After two days of tough talks with the club’s leaders, Mauricio Pochettino has quit Chelsea FC on his terms.
Even though the Argentine had a rough season at Stamford Bridge, the season finished on a high note with five straight wins that secured a spot in Europe.
After Sunday’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth, he couldn’t make any promises about his future and didn’t do the usual lap of honour.
Over the past two days, the club has been thinking about his situation. The Telegraph reports that they have decided to end his deal early after only one season at Stamford Bridge.
Pochettino met with co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali on Monday and Tuesday.
Pochettino will be leaving the club, which was decided late Tuesday morning. Chelsea’s leaders will now start the process of finding a new manager.

It is said that there is no “bad blood” between the former Tottenham manager and the Chelsea decision-makers. Everyone just thought it was time to move on.
