A dog thought to be searching for food discovered a newborn baby boy abandoned in a woodland in Abagana village, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, the stray dog dragged the newborn across a busy road and deposited it in a public location, hoping that people would see and save him.
“The dog discovered the infant in a plastic bag abandoned in the forest. According to our reports, the infant may have been abandoned in the bush for around two days before the dog spotted him,” the source stated.
“The baby is in good condition; he is stable,” the insider explained.
A video shared online depicts a lady washing the newborn while criticizing the unknown person(s) who left the child in the wilderness to be consumed by wild animals.
