First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu would lead prayers for the whole country to ask God to help with the country’s money problems.
This was made public in Abuja by Segun Balogun Afolorunikan, who is the Director General of the National Prayer Forum (NPF). Afolorunikan said that the national prayer for 2024 will be about “seeking God’s intervention in Nigeria’s affairs.”
Afolorunikan said that the event, which was planned with the help of Christian and Muslim leaders, would give Nigeria new hope and purpose as it moves into the year 2025.

Afolorunikan said, “By the end of this prayer session, we believe that with God’s help, our leaders and people will have the strength to face our common enemies.”
“Muslims will gather at the National Mosque in Abuja for seven days, during which time 313 people will recite the Qur’an, with the final result being the holy text being read 2,191 times for national stability,” said the head of the NPF.
“For a week, Christians will gather at the National Ecumenical Centre to pray very hard. Prayer warriors from different faiths will focus on the problems facing the country.”
He also told the Daily Trust that “extensive outreach had been conducted,” which meant that he had met with “traditional leaders like the Sultan of Sokoto” and leaders from the National Mosque and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
