In an emotional plea to end the continued suffering and economic hardship in their communities, residents of Yankara in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, Nigeria, staged a protest this past weekend.

The #EndBadGovernanceProtest saw a blockade enacted on the Sokoto road while the protesters took to prayer, seeking divine intervention.

The normally quiet town of Yankara erupted in peaceful yet poignant protest as locals voiced their concerns over the ongoing insecurity and hardship-related issues.

With the frequency and ferocity of bandit attacks, abductions, and economic hardship escalating, the community demanded immediate and effective action from the Nigerian government, urging them to prioritize both issues, respectively.

The protest not only served to highlight the community’s plight but also aimed to draw national and international attention to the escalating security crisis.

The Sokoto road blockade successfully propelled the #EndBadGovernanceProtest into the spotlight, amplifying the community’s urgent call for help.

A public prayer was held alongside the road blockade, a collective plea for divine intervention. Uniting in faith, the protesters fervently prayed for an end to their sufferings and the secure future they feel has been denied them for too long.
