The Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has issued a statement regarding the recent apprehension of three individuals alleged to be operating the controversial blog called Gistlover.
Following the arrest, many individuals expressed skepticism about the identities of those detained, particularly since the account responsible for the blog continued to share new posts.
Furthermore, people questioned the nature of the offense committed by the Instagram blog that warranted such arrests.
In response, Adejobi clarified that Gistlover is not managed by a single individual but rather by a network of people.
He added that the individuals taken into custody were members of this syndicate, and during the operation, law enforcement authorities managed to seize 12 different Gistlover pages from the suspects.
Adejobi further explained that the individuals paraded as the perpetrators behind the blog were arrested due to their alleged involvement in an ongoing investigation related to conspiracy, cyberstalking, and threats to life.
