Speculation is brewing around the integration of Google’s Gemini with Apple intelligence, a move that has been long-awaited by many.
While Apple has already collaborated with OpenAI to introduce ChatGPT to the iOS platform, the expected Google Gemini integration is still in the works.
Apple’s ChatGPT will be available with the imminent release of iOS 18.2 beta, slated for a December launch. However, announcements concerning the integration with other AI chatbots like Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude remain sparse.
Apple’s software chief, Craig Federighi, has previously expressed his interest in integrating Gemini with Apple Intelligence.
A recent snippet from Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter offered more insight into Apple’s likely timeline. Gurman suggests that Google Gemini’s integration with Apple’s platform may not occur until next year.
Google Gemini might not be included in iOS software this year, as many initially hoped. However, it remains unclear if this launch will occur in the spring alongside iOS 18.4 or during the iOS 19 release cycle later in the year.
In the meantime, those eager to use Gemini on their iPhones are in luck. Google recently launched a standalone Gemini application on the App Store, giving iOS users a chance to explore Google’s latest AI enhancements.
