In Niger State, organised labour headed by Trade Union Congress (TUC) Chairman Ibrahim Gana has shut down the Bola Tinubu International Airport in Minna, the state capital.
According to AIT, Labour took this move in response to the continuing statewide strike by Organised Labour over the non-resolution of the new National Minimum Wage.
Gana, who led the monitoring, compliance, and assessment committee, stated that they will continue to monitor until the necessary actions are taken.
All the offices examined demonstrated complete compliance, with unoccupied chairs and some under lock and key.
After discussions with the government over the workers’ minimum wage came to a stalemate, organised labour decided to go on strike.
