According to reports, lightning hit and killed three alleged suspected kidnappers in the rural town of Oro Ago in Kwara State.
The event, which the Nigerian Tribune claims was connected to local watchdog efforts in the Igbomina-Kwara corridor to address security issues, took place three days ago.

The victims affected by the lightning strike were apparently suspected members of an eight-man kidnapping ring that allegedly operated in Iwo, Osun state, roughly two weeks ago.
A source from the Oro-Ago Development Union (ODU), a socio-cultural group of local residents, verified the occurrence to the media and said that members of the vigilance team in the region updated the group about the development.
State Police Commissioner CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi stated that the Command and its officers had already started an inquiry into the incident.
The CP promised that after a thorough inquiry, the incident’s validity will be determined.
