Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo , as on Tuesday set the social media agog during his 2025 fiscal year budget.
The budget reading which estimates to about N605 billion causes a controversy during the reading when the Edo state governor stutters and stammers while calling out the figures to the audience.
Monday Okpebholo, struggled a couple of times with getting the figures out correctly while on live TV, where he eventually agreed to saying, “It’s confusing me”.
The Governor, while presenting the Appropriation Bill titled “Budget of Renewed Hope for a Rising Edo” at the hallowed chamber of the Edo State House of Assembly, revealed that the proposed budget reflects a 25 per cent increase from the 2024 budget.
Reacting to trending video is the Edo State All Progressives Congress Chairman, Jareth Tenebe, who admonished that such errors shows that the Edo State governor, Monday Okphebolo is not a thief.
He further affirmed that the former President of South Africa made a similar error and that such figure stuttering presentation is normal.
Backing his claims about the genuineness of the governor, he emphasised that the likes of former Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki and others were thieves which made it easier for them to appropriately presented the budget figures without stammering.
Jareth Tenebe, further said that, “Monday is performing and anybody that doesn’t like his face should go to h3ll”
