Samsung Galaxy S25 could feature MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC
Samsung has a busy schedule ahead of it, with the debut of its next-generation foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, as well as a few other wearable products.
Meanwhile, it has begun developing the flagship Samsung Galaxy S25 series, which is expected to be released in early 2025. The next series is scheduled to feature MediaTek processors.
According to rumours, Samsung may partner with MediaTek for the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series.
The report suggests using the top Dimensity 9400 processor, maybe with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Samsung’s Exynos 2500.
This cloud culminated in Samsung’s next flagship family, which includes three distinct systems on chips (SoCs) for separate markets.
If this story is genuine, it might explain why the series’ price has been reduced. Compared to Qualcomm’s SoC, the MediaTek processor may be more cost-effective.
However, it is yet to be verified whether Samsung’s interest in the high-end MediaTek processor stems from Qualcomm’s rumoured price increase for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or low yields on the Exynos 2500.
The present Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC costs between $190 and $200; however, its successor, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, might cost as much as $260 per unit.
Furthermore, the 3nm Exynos 2500 yield is only about 40 per cent, which comes short of the 60% required for mass manufacturing. It is also stated that the Korean conglomerate will be working on improving its Exynos 2500 by August.

If the brand’s yields remain poor and Qualcomm’s next-generation chipset becomes expensive, it may be advantageous for Samsung to include MediaTek in its chip range.
This move might be used as a consultation technique with Qualcomm, giving Samsung greater freedom in how it approaches the manufacture of its forthcoming Galaxy S25 series.
