Singer Portable fled by jumping a gate to evade police arrest over an alleged unpaid debt for his G-Wagon.
The Lagos state police command apprehended the entertainer today after a car dealer petitioned against him.
Portable reportedly bought an N27 million G-Wagon from the dealer, made an initial payment, and drove off with the vehicle, promising to settle the remainder later.
Upon realizing that Portable had yet to fulfill his part of the deal, the dealer approached him, only to be told that the purchased car had defects.
Despite the dealer’s request to return the vehicle or pay the outstanding sum, Portable purportedly declined.
The dealer’s complaint led to the singer’s apprehension by the police, and he is currently under custody. SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos state police command, confirmed the arrest when reached for comment.
