The Borno State Police Command has verified the death of Prof. Ruth Haruna Wazis, former Head of the Department of Business Management at the Maiduguri Varsity, who died in an accident at home.

According to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Yusuf Lawal, the event occurred on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

Lawal stated that the Prof. was parking her automobile in her garage when a sudden mechanical fault led the vehicle to speed abruptly, knocking her to the ground and standing on her breast.

He stated she died from her injuries before being transferred to the hospital. The police chief also said that her family members transported her body to the hospital.
