Some names and images of Nigerian soldiers ambushed on the waterways and killed by youths in Delta State have emerged.

On Thursday, community youths murdered at least 16 military troops from the 181 Amphibious Batallion in Delta State’s Bomadi Local Government Area.

The sad occurrence occurred as troops reacted to a distress call following a communal conflict between the Okuama and Okoloba communities in Delta State.

Major Shafa, Major Obi, Captain Zakari, and Lieutenant Colonel AH Ali were among the martyred heroes.

Other troops whose identities have yet to be revealed are among the soldiers.
