Moment Anthony Joshua Knockouts Finnish Boxer, Robert Helenius In 7th Round (VIDEO)

Anthony Joshua knocked out Finnish boxer Robert Helenius in the seventh round on Saturday night, August 12, giving him his first knockout win since defeating Kubrat Puliev on December 12, 2020.

The former unified heavyweight champion was scheduled to fight Dillian Whyte at the O2 Arena in London. Whyte failed a drug test last week, so Helenius, who had just fought seven days before in Finland, stepped in as a last-minute replacement.

Helenius delivered a decent performance in the first few rounds, aiming to counterpunch and throw jabs, but Joshua, fearful of a repeat of the Andy Ruiz situation, shot his jabs slowly and had to wait until the seventh round to land the knockout blow.

Helenius was knocked out with a quick right hand after a three-punch combination.

The referee didn’t spend time ending the match as Helenius rolled down the ropes.

With a probable battle against Deontay Wilder (who beat Helenius in the first round when they met), Joshua will be buoyed by this result as he strives to become a three-time heavyweight champion.
