AFCON- Ivory Coast Crashes Out Reigning Champion, Senegal, Proceeds To Quarter Final

Ivory Coast, the tournament host, advances to the African Cup of Nations quarterfinals after defeating Senegal, the reigning champions.

While the match in round 16 on Monday, January 30, ended in a 1-1 deadlock, the cote d’ ivoire emerged triumphant in the penalty shootout.

As a top-tier third-place team at the AFCON, Cote d’ ivoire advanced to the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, they’ll meet Cape Verde.
