Tunde Onakoya, a renowned chess player and master who set a new world record of playing the game of chess for 60 hours non-stop in the United States of America a few days ago, has been appointed as the Ogun State sports ambassador.

Chess master and world record holder Tunde Onakoya have been honoured and decorated by Governor Dapo Abiodun as the state’s sports ambassador. 

Tunde, who is from Ago-Iwoye, Ijebu in Ogun State, was hosted by the Governor on Thursday, 25th April 2024, and has been given the job of planning the Ogun State chess game.

His commitment and leadership in promoting chess in the state will be acknowledged through the “Tunde Onakoya Prize,” given to the competition’s winner.
