On Friday, June 28, 103 Nigerians were deported from the Republic of Turkey and landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

They landed at the airport’s pilgrims wing at 6:45 p.m. aboard a Southwind Airlines flight bearing the registration number TC-GRB.

The deportees were greeted by several government agencies, including the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Department of State Services (DSS) personnel, and members of the military.

The exact reason for their deportation is unknown. The enraged deportees described their ordeal, stating that they were mistreated in Europe.

According to them, they were imprisoned by Turkish officials for nearly 11 months before being deported.

They thus called on the Nigerian government to fight for them and retrieve all their assets.
