Enhanced camera and gallery features, including Flex Cam and Instant Slow-mo upgrades, debut with One UI 6.1.1.

Not all enhancements will apply to every eligible model, with feature distribution dependent on hardware specifications. For instance, Flex Cam’s Auto Zoom is exclusively available on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and 6.

The Instant Slow-mo feature is now available in HDR Video format in the Gallery app, allowing Galaxy users to save watched sections. You can also share these slow-mo videos directly without saving them separately.

The gallery also introduces Live Effects, which brings photos of people and animals to life in three dimensions, and Motion Clippers, which create moving stickers and GIFs from a Motion Photo.

The Photo Editor feature introduces the Portrait Studio to save photos in various styles through AI generation and Convert Sketch to overlay a sketch on your photo, creating a unique image.

Samsung has also improved translation results by overlaying translations onto the original image, maintaining the text and background colour for better readability.

Astronomical Figures, a part of the Expert RAW app, is a notable feature that lets you capture photos of people and stars together. This is set to be supported through the Expert RAW app update in One UI 6.1.1

Remember, the availability of these features will first roll out to users in Korea and then extend to North America and Europe on September 9. This major update includes enhanced Note Assist features, PDF Overlay Translation, Sketch to Image, and Circle to Search with Sound search feature. With these updates, Samsung is set to make AI-driven tools accessible to a wider audience and enhance the overall mobile experience.
