In a recent development regarding the scandal involving popular crossdresser Bobrisky, the Nigerian Correctional Service confirmed the suspension of a number of its top-ranking officers. The move comes in response to allegations of bribery linked to these officials.

To recap, the Civil Defence, Correctional Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) had previously suspended four officers due to their involvement in various corruption cases.

Among them was DCC Michael Anugwa, who, during a formal inquiry by the House of Representatives Investigation panel, denied receiving a letter of suspension as directed by the CDCFIB.

However, a public announcement by the Service’s Assistant Controller of Corrections and Public Relations Officer, Umar Abubakar, refuted this claim. Abubakar stated that Anugwa’s denial was a serious misconduct aimed at misleading the public.

Clarifying the situation, the statement expressed that not only was the officer seen in the video suspended, but three others were also suspended for their alleged involvement in different misconducts. This was done to allow for further investigation.

The suspended officers include Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC) Sikiru Adekunle, DCC Michael Anugwa, DCC Kevin Ikechukwu Iloafonsi, and Assistant Superintendent of Corrections (ASC II) Ogbule Samuel Obinna.

Corresponding to this, two letters were issued by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), stating the suspension of the named officers. The suspension was implemented on the 26th of September, 2024.
