Leicester City Police then scoured CCTV footage, telephone records, and public assistance to fish out these perpetrators.

The lengthy court case ran for six weeks and ended in October. On November 14, the sentences were handed down, and a detailed report of the incident appeared on the Leicester Police website.

The accused students (Destiny Ojo, Habib Lawal, Ridwanulahi Raheem, and Joshua Davies-Ero) were all in their early 20s at the time and were each given sentences ranging from two to seven years.

Destiny Ojo served the maximum sentence of seven years for violent disorder, attempted grievous bodily harm, and GBH with intent.

Lawal received five years in prison for the same charges, while Raheem was convicted of three years in prison for violent disorder and possession of a bladed article. Davies-Ero was given a two-year sentence for violent disorder.

Another defendant, Justin Asamoah, 22, was convicted of possessing a bladed article and is set to be sentenced on November 22.

Officials from Leicester Police thanked the public for their assistance during the investigation, saying they wanted to reduce violent activity so that the community would be safe.
