He was reported missing from the Roch Valley region at 9 a.m. on Sunday, November 24.

Members of the Heywood community banded together to help find Nathaniel, and police scoured the River Roch on several occasions.

Tragically, his body was recovered from the water on Saturday, December 14, and identified on Sunday.

In a statement released by Greater Manchester Police, Nathaniel’s family said: “Nathaniel was a lovely guy and daddy, the most kind and caring husband and father who always placed his family first.

“A nice friend to everyone and an avid singer-songwriter. Favour will be missed forever and will never leave our hearts.

“We ask for time and peace to process our family’s sad loss. We thank the Heywood community for their outpouring of love and support.

He left their Heywood house around 8.30 a.m., and a dog walker reported seeing him in a’sleepy state’ a short time later, sitting on a wall by the fast-flowing river following Storm Bert.
