A business poster created by a woman from Ebonyi has caused a stir on social media after many people mistakenly interpreted it as an obituary announcement.
The confusion quickly went viral, with numerous online users criticizing the poster’s design for being misleading.
The poster was first shared on Facebook by Meme Plug General, who expressed his surprise at the ambiguous layout. “Omor, I nearly typed RIP oo,” he commented, indicating that he initially thought the poster was announcing the woman’s passing.
The poster was meant to promote a four-day business training event in Ebonyi. However, its design—featuring a sombre font, a muted colour palette, and the placement of the woman’s photograph—bore a striking resemblance to a traditional obituary notice.
The mix-up sparked a wave of reactions online, with many netizens pointing fingers at the designer for the confusing presentation.
Some users humorously noted how easy it was to misinterpret the poster, while others criticized the lack of clarity in its visual elements.
The incident has since become a talking point, highlighting the importance of thoughtful design in communication.
