The Galaxy S25 Edge is another masterpiece device from the tech giant Samsung. This smartphone has been tipped to have its design peeks from the iPhone 17 Air.
At the Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung revealed the Galaxy S25 Edge sample. The smartphone is scheduled to be unveiled in the second quarter.
A new input talks about the tiny design dimensions and trade-offs of the Galaxy S25 Edge.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be very thin at 5.84 mm. The iPhone 17 Air has pushed Samsung to rethink the S25 Edge’s design selection. That said, the corporation has made last-minute modifications that are daring.
Insider states that Samsung intended a 6.4mm Galaxy S25 Edge (Slim). The device should include a triple camera configuration featuring a telephoto lens. However, a slimmer design was decided to compete with the iPhone 17 Air.
The dimensions of the phone are said to be 158.2 x 75.5 x 5.84 mm. The significant discrepancy between the prototype and CAD renders (by Onleaks) is because Samsung has been testing two separate design prototypes.
To minimise the thickness, Samsung has omitted the telephoto camera. The battery also decreases to under 4000 mAh.
These trade-offs are only aligned at lowering the thickness to challenge the iPhone 17 Air.

- Ultra-thin body: 5.84 mm, down from the earlier 6.4 mm prototype
- Camera cutback: Now a dual-camera setup (200MP main + 50MP ultra-wide), with no telephoto lens
- Camera bump issue: Samsung designed an oblong camera module to create an optical illusion, making the protrusion appear less significant
Apple’s iPhone 17 Air could be slimmer between 5.5mm and 6.0mm. The smartphone could feature only one rear camera to obtain the ultra-thin profile. A single speaker is also possible instead of dual speakers for audio.
