President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration is steadfast in its commitment to national growth despite constant criticism from opposition voices.
The President remarked this while addressing the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus members at the State House Conference Center in Abuja on Tuesday night, February 25.
The President stressed that his government is focused on achieving actual outcomes rather than participating in political distractions.
“Our determination to deliver is unshaken despite the cacophony of misguided, unfounded, and gloomy claims made by our detractors. They will continue to talk, but we are extremely focused,” Tinubu asserted.
The President admitted that executing key economic policies, such as withdrawing gasoline subsidies, has caused obstacles. Still, he stressed that such reforms were vital to stabilise the nation’s economy.
He said Nigeria could not have thrived under the former subsidy regime, underscoring that state governments now receive larger allocations, enabling them to execute development projects effectively.
“It is a daunting challenge. The policies are harsh, but there was no way Nigeria would have survived with the load of fuel subsidies. Today, I can beat my chest and say that each governor here understands that their allocations to the states have tripled. We have ample resources for the local governments,” he assured.
