Climate Change Protesters Disrupt Kemi Badenoch’s At Margaret Thatcher’s Conference

Climate change protesters caused a stir by disrupting Kemi Badenoch’s speech at an event celebrating Margaret Thatcher’s legacy. The incident occurred at the Centre for Policy Studies’ Margaret Thatcher conference in London’s Guildhall.

As Badenoch addressed the audience, a protester interrupted with shouts and a banner reading “Abolish Billionaires.” Attendees quickly removed the individual while another protester highlighted the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

Badenoch defended Thatcher, remarking that she could “hardly” be blamed for current economic challenges. Nonetheless, the protesters criticised the Conservative Party for enabling wealth accumulation, exacerbating climate change and poverty.

They advocated for a wealth tax to fund public services and climate initiatives, questioning the celebration of Thatcher’s influence on today’s societal issues.

During her speech, Badenoch announced the upcoming launch of “the Conservative Party’s biggest policy renewal programme in 50 years,” set for Tuesday.

She outlined goals such as tax cuts, regulation reforms, secure borders, reducing government waste, and championing British values without apology.

The event has sparked discussion on the intersection of political legacy, economic policy, and environmental activism, reflecting broader societal debates.
