Nigerian Lady Granted N1 Million Bail After Fake Church Testimony Charge In Enugu

Helen, 32, was charged before Magistrate S.O. Chukwuani on a four-count charge after appearing in a viral video at Prophet Ebuka Obi’s church providing false evidence about how she bought a house worth N200 million.

Helen’s troubles began when someone recognized her in front of a shop that was suspected of her. The individual compared the video clip from the church where she spoke her testimony and uploaded it on social media.

This sparked fury on social media, with Obi claiming that he had no idea the lady lied about her N200 million house testimony.

Helen claims to have purchased a five-bedroom duplex at Plot 16, WTC Estate, Enugu, which belongs to Emmanuel Asogwa.

Helen was further arrested and arraigned in court for allegations bordering on obtaining false pretence to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony by trying to sell the property.

The defendant pled not guilty to the allegations when the court clerk called the case and was granted an N1 million bond with a guarantor in the same amount.

According to the magistrate, the surety will present their three-year tax clearance before the court.

The case was postponed until April 9, 2025, for additional proceedings.

Helen stated following her arrest, “I gave the testimony saying that I would get it; no one planned anything with me, and I did not collect anything from anyone.

She” added that by faith, she had earlier gone for an inspection of the property which she was proposing to purchase, and she had assured the owners that she was coming back to buy the house.
