Cristiano Ronaldo Announces Shock Career Shift Away From Football, Unveils New Movie Studio
A superstar footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo has launched a career away from football.

Ronaldo, 40, a Portuguese footballer who now plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, is starting a new business endeavour.
He will collaborate with filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, 54, who produced Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and directed gangster pictures like Snatch and Layer Cake.

Ronaldo and Vaughn will collaborate to start UR MARV, an independent film studio focused on ’embracing contemporary technologies with a nod to tradition’. Read more about trending stories, here
A statement released to Ronaldo’s official account on X, formerly Twitter, read: ‘Cristiano Ronaldo likes movies, Matthew Vaughn enjoys sports, and they both enjoy a good tale.
‘Both have been disruptive champions at their games and will now connect the worlds of sport and storytelling with the establishment of UR MARV, an independent joint venture film studio embracing innovative technology while paying homage to tradition.’
Vaughan added, “Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to creating inspiring films with him – he’s a real-life superhero.”
