FRSC Lagos Deploys Officers and Vehicles for Safe Easter Celebration

As part of preparations for a smooth and safe Easter celebration, FRSC Lagos has deployed officers, marshals, and operational vehicles across the state to ensure traffic flows without disruption.

The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde Hamzat, revealed this during a media briefing held along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. He stated that the Federal Road Safety Corps is fully ready to support road users throughout the 2025 Easter festivities.

According to a statement released on Friday by the FRSC Lagos Sector Public Education Officer, Elizabeth Jayeola, the deployment includes two new patrol vehicles recently donated by the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.

Hamzat assured residents that both regular and special marshals have been stationed at key spots across major highways, inner-city roads, and busy festive routes.

“Our officers have been positioned in strategic locations to manage traffic, reduce road crashes, and ensure safety throughout the Easter period,” he said.

To further encourage safe driving and ensure compliance with road rules, the FRSC will also operate mobile courts during the holiday. These courts will handle serious traffic offences and prosecute violators on the spot.

Hamzat noted that the mobile courts will focus on dangerous driving behaviours such as speeding, drunk driving, using expired tyres, not using seat belts, and using mobile phones while driving.

“Mobile court operations will be active to swiftly prosecute traffic offenders. Drivers must avoid taking risks that endanger their lives and others on the road,” he added.

He appealed to motorists to drive responsibly and obey all traffic laws to avoid accidents during the celebration.

“Please don’t drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. One night of fun shouldn’t result in a lifetime of pain. Check your wipers, drive carefully, and remember your family is waiting for you,” he advised.

The FRSC Lagos boss also reminded pedestrians and other road users to stay alert and avoid unsafe road crossings. He urged everyone to be cautious and aware of their surroundings while on the road.

“FRSC Lagos is committed to a crash-free Easter celebration. But we can only succeed if every road user plays their part,” the statement concluded.

With this proactive approach, FRSC Lagos is working to ensure that all residents and travelers enjoy a peaceful and safe Easter holiday across the state.
