Nigeria’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, have discovered their group stage opponents for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (AFCON), following a fresh draw conducted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday.

The Flying Eagles 2025 U-20 AFCON campaign will begin in Group B, where they are set to face Tunisia, Kenya, and Morocco in what promises to be a competitive pool.

The revised draw became necessary after Côte d’Ivoire, the original host country, withdrew from organizing the tournament. Egypt has since been named the new host nation and will now welcome Africa’s top youth teams to compete for continental glory.

Nigeria, one of the tournament’s most successful teams with seven titles, will open their journey against Tunisia on Sunday, April 28. The match is expected to set the tone for the team’s ambitions as they look to reclaim the title.

Meanwhile, Group A consists of host nation Egypt, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Zambia, and Tanzania. Egypt will kick off the entire tournament with a highly anticipated opener against South Africa on Saturday, April 27.
