Android 16-Based One UI 8 Surfaces On Samsung Galaxy S22 Series: Here Is How It Looks
One UI 8 will mark the final significant update for the Galaxy S22 series, and Samsung is currently conducting internal tests on it. Recently, we’ve observed a Galaxy S23 operating on Android 16 firmware, and now it’s the S22 Ultra’s turn to appear on the benchmarking platform.
A Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has recently been detected running Android 16-based One UI 8 on Geekbench. The latest test build is reported to have the PDA version S908USQU8GYCB, as per @tarunvats33.
With One UI 8 in its internal testing phase, the Galaxy S22 Ultra achieved scores of 1581 in single-core and 3680 in multi-core tests. These performance results may see further improvements as the optimisation of the build continues.
Samsung has officially announced that Android 16 will be available for Galaxy devices this summer. Current developments suggest that the new operating system will debut alongside the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 foldable devices this July.
The South Korean technology company might soon introduce the One UI 8 Beta Program. The Galaxy S25 series, Z Flip6, and Z Fold6 are expected to be the first to receive this Beta update. Nevertheless, older models may transition directly to the Stable One UI 8 software.
Based on the leaks we’ve encountered, One UI 8 is anticipated to be a minor upgrade from One UI 7. It will feature redesigned applications and system functionalities. The goal is to enhance the Galaxy experience and refine user interactions.
