Babajide Sanwo-Olu Urges Youth to Join Nigerian Army Recruitment Drive
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on young men and women in the state to make use of the ongoing Nigerian Army recruitment process, highlighting the many career opportunities now available in today’s military.

This was made known in a statement released on Tuesday by Olumuyiwa Ojelabi from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
The statement revealed that registration for the 89 Regular Recruits Intake for both trades and non-tradesmen/women will end on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
The governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, made the call during a community meeting held at the palace of the Olofin of Isheri Olofin.
“It’s important for us to change how we see careers in the military,” Salu-Hundeyin said on behalf of the governor. “Today’s Army is not just about combat. There are now opportunities in technology, education, and personal career growth.”
The event brought together youths, parents, community leaders, religious heads, and skilled workers to talk about the advantages of joining the Nigerian Army. It also aimed to correct some common misconceptions about military life.
Governor Sanwo-Olu explained that serving in the Army goes beyond national duty. He said the Army now provides professional training in areas like medicine, law, and aeronautics, helping recruits build successful careers.
