Donald Trump Condemns Attack on Israeli Embassy Staff in Washington
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has spoken out strongly against the deadly antisemitic attack in Washington that claimed the lives of two Israeli embassy staff members on Wednesday night.
The tragic shooting happened near the Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., close to the FBI’s local office and Georgetown University Law School. The victims, identified as employees of the Israeli Embassy, were attending an event organized by the American Jewish Committee when the incident occurred.
Reacting to the news on Thursday via his Truth Social account, Trump said the killings were clearly driven by antisemitism and must come to an end. He stressed that the United States should not be a place for hatred or radical actions.
“These horrible D.C. killings, based obviously on antisemitism, must end, NOW!” Trump wrote. “Hatred and Radicalism have no place in the United States.”
He also sent his condolences to the grieving families, saying, “Condolences to the families of the victims. So sad that such things as this can happen!”
Police responded swiftly to the scene and confirmed that one suspect is now in custody. According to Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith, the suspect reportedly shouted “Free Free Palestine” while being arrested, raising concerns that the incident may have been politically or ideologically motivated.
