A disturbing incident has occurred in Benin City, Edo State, where a grandmother has been arrested for burning her granddaughter’s hands as punishment for eating Indomie noodles without permission.

According to reports, the young girl, who was hungry, ate the noodles even though her grandmother had warned her not to. In a shocking response, the grandmother reportedly placed the child’s hands on a gas stove, causing severe burns.

A concerned witness who couldn’t stand the sight of the child’s injuries contacted the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs.

The Ministry quickly stepped in, arrested the grandmother, and ensured the girl was taken to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) for urgent medical attention.
