President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Honoured with a Chieftaincy Title in Anambra
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was warmly received in Anambra State on Thursday during a one-day working visit.

The highlight of the visit was the special honour he received from all 179 traditional rulers in the state, who conferred on him the chieftaincy title of ‘Dike si mba Anambra’ — meaning “Warrior from the Diaspora.”
The prestigious title was presented by the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Ogalagidi, Eze Iweka III), at a colourful ceremony held at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, the state capital.
While presenting the title, Igwe Iweka explained that the honour was from the entire state, represented by all the royal fathers across the 179 communities of Anambra. He praised Tinubu’s efforts in governance and infrastructure development across Nigeria.
“This title is from all the traditional rulers in Anambra State,” Igwe Iweka said. “We call it ‘Dike si mba Anambra’ which translates to ‘Warrior from the Diaspora.’ It is in recognition of your good works across the country. Your commitment to governance is bringing positive change to every part of Nigeria.”
He also highlighted key infrastructure projects such as roads connecting to the Second Niger Bridge as part of the President’s visible impact in the Southeast and beyond.

In his response, President Tinubu expressed deep appreciation for the honour, calling it a memorable moment in his journey as a leader.
“I am truly honoured by this chieftaincy title. This day is historic for me, and I will always hold it dear,” Tinubu said. “Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity. We must work together for the progress and unity of our nation.”
He urged Nigerians to stay united and focused on development, adding that his administration remains committed to improving lives through key projects and inclusive leadership.
During the visit, President Tinubu also commissioned several projects completed under the administration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo. These include: The New State Government House, The Governor’s Lodge, Solution Fun City, Emeka Anyaoku Institute for International Studies and Diplomacy and Infrastructure at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka
The visit and the honours given to Tinubu were a show of unity and mutual respect between the Federal Government and the people of Anambra State.
The event was graced by notable personalities including: National Security Adviser, Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu, Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah and Minister of Works, Dave Umahi.
