In a video shared shortly after he regained access to his social media accounts, the outspoken critic revealed that the EFCC took a mugshot of him during his nearly five-day detention.

However, he made it clear that releasing that photo with any mention of “money laundering” would not be taken lightly.

“You people took a picture of me. Wahala go start if you release that photo and put ‘money laundering’ on it,” he said in the video.

“If you upload my photo with such a tag, you will have to prove it. I am not a fraudster. If you label me wrongly, it means others you’ve done the same to might be innocent too.”

Verydarkman EFCC arrest has sparked fresh online debates, especially after his direct message to the commission demanding transparency and fairness.

In the same video, he called out Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), claiming the bank played a role in his arrest. According to him, there is video evidence linking GTBank to his case, but he is unable to share it until he recovers his seized phone.

He captioned the post:

“Dear EFCC, as we are about to become friends in the quest for a better Nigeria, we have to start with integrity and clean hands. We cannot start with lies… and as for @gtbank, I will be needing some explanations o.”

The video has since stirred reactions online, with many of his followers demanding clarity from both EFCC and GTBank over the incident.

So far, neither the EFCC nor GTBank has responded publicly to the claims.
