Anambra Police Arrest Two for Killing Female Bank Manager
The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two men linked to the kidnapping and murder of a female bank manager, even after her family paid a ₦14 million ransom to secure her release.

In a statement released on Sunday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the suspects were arrested on May 28, 2025, after months of investigation.
According to Ikenga, the victim’s body was found on January 13, 2025, along the Nnobi road. Shockingly, this discovery came after her family had already paid the ransom demanded by her kidnappers. Her hands and eyes were tied, clearly showing signs of foul play.
“Following our promise to pursue all criminal cases to the very end, and ensure safety across Anambra, two suspects were arrested on May 28,” Ikenga noted in the statement.
The arrested men were identified as Monday Egbe and Kenneth Nnoga. Police operatives tracked them to their hideout in a neighboring state, where they were finally captured.

Ikenga also reassured residents that the Anambra Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and property. “We will continue to do everything possible to make sure criminals are brought to justice. No case will be abandoned,” he said.
This arrest has brought some relief to the victim’s family and the wider community, who have been hoping for justice since the tragic incident.
