Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Samuel Jacob Alifa, better known as Sammie, has come under fire after being accused of scamming a fan of ₦4.5 million with a false promise of helping him join the BBNaija reality show.

BBNaija Star Sammie Accused of Scamming Fan of ₦4.5 Million Over BBNaija Slot

The accusation was made by a user on X (formerly Twitter), with the handle @AssistantEbukaa, who shared a video of a man named Emmanuel, the alleged victim of the scam.

In the video, Emmanuel claimed that Sammie promised to help him secure a spot on BBNaija but continued to request money throughout the audition period.

Despite paying a total of ₦4.5 million, Emmanuel said he didn’t make it to the final list of contestants, and Sammie has since cut off communication with him.

“BBNaija star Sammie took almost ₦5 million from this guy, promising it would push him to become a contestant during the audition,” the video caption read. “But the audition ended, and he wasn’t selected.

Now, he’s frustrated, and Sammie has gone silent, even though he earlier promised to refund the money if things didn’t work out.”

According to Emmanuel’s account, Sammie repeatedly asked for money and even advised him to take out a loan to meet the demands. In a desperate effort to secure a place on the show, Emmanuel took a loan and later sold his car just to repay the debt.

“My name is Emmanuel. I was scammed of ₦4.5 million by my brother from Kogi State, Sammie. He told me to take a loan. Ultimately, I had to sell my car to repay the loan. What hurt me the most is that it wasn’t a stranger, but someone I trusted like a brother,” Emmanuel said in the video.
