Controversial Nigerian show promoter Sam Larry has finally addressed the claims regarding his involvement in the circumstances surrounding the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.

In a recent revealing interview with social media activist Verydarkman, Sam Larry broke his silence after nearly two years to respond to the widespread criticism and clarify his part in the viral confrontation video that came back into the spotlight following Mohbad’s death.

During the interview, Verydarkman challenged him with inquiries about a brief clip showing Sam Larry confronting Mohbad at a beach setting.

The footage had ignited anger, with many believing it demonstrated harassment.

That video was just 9 seconds long. I was with my son at the beach. When I saw Mohbad, I walked up to him and demanded my money for a show he didn’t show up for. Zlatan was there and quickly stepped in to resolve the situation. There was no assault,” he said.

Sam Larry, however, argued that the situation was misunderstood. He stated that he merely approached Mohbad to request a refund for a performance the late artist allegedly did not fulfill.

When asked why rapper Zlatan Ibile has never publicly stated that no harm was inflicted on Mohbad during the incident, Sam Larry claimed that Zlatan had been cautioned to avoid the controversy.

”Zlatan say if hin talks say blood go comot for his mouth,” he said.

Sam Larry also responded to rumours regarding his location at the time of Mohbad’s death in September 2023.

He disclosed that he was in Dubai while his associate, Naira Marley, was in Amsterdam.
