Kiekie Mourns the Loss of Her Sister, in Emotional Tribute
Popular Nigerian media personality, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, widely known as Kiekie, has been left heartbroken following the passing of her beloved sister, Adepero.
Kiekie took to her Instagram page to share the heartbreaking news with her fans and followers, revealing that Adepero passed away on June 6, 2025. In a deeply emotional post, the actress and content creator poured out her grief, expressing how difficult it has been to accept the loss.
In her touching tribute, Kiekie described the day her sister died as the worst day of her life. She recalled how she was expecting to hear her sister’s voice that night, only to be met with the painful news from her brother-in-law.
“All I wanted to do before going to bed at 11:46pm was to hear your sweet voice, and I met your husband’s weakened voice as he told me, ‘Kiekie, your sister passed on this afternoon’. Ahhh! Modaran! I felt my heart tearing out of my chest,” she wrote.
Kiekie, clearly devastated, described Adepero as someone who loved her deeply and gave her the kind of affection no one else ever could. She spoke about the bond they shared, noting that she lived in the center of her sister’s heart and vice versa.
She also revealed that Adepero had made her the godmother of her first child, never imagining that she would now have to step into the role of mother.
“When you made me the godmother to your first child, I never knew a day would come when I would have to become his mother,” she said.
The media personality expressed how hard it is to come to terms with the loss, adding that nothing prepared her for this kind of pain. She spoke of the unforgettable memories they shared—the laughter, hugs, and late-night conversations—memories she now holds dear.

“Now, who will call me ‘my lover or sister girl’ as you do?! Your laughter, jokes, and the warmth of your long hugs ring in my head, and I’ll always bury myself in your arms,” she wrote.
Kiekie’s tribute ended with words of faith and hope. She acknowledged that her sister is now resting with God, even though the pain of losing her remains deep.
“Thank you for a beautiful friendship. I know you’re with God, the heavens are rejoicing, and Jesus has welcomed you because He alone loves you the most! Till we meet again, My Sister Girl!”
The emotional message has touched many of her followers, with fans and celebrities flooding the comments section to offer prayers, condolences, and support.
